The Leclerc Artisat 36" loom is a 4 shaft jack-type floor loom that is designed for the weaver with limited space who wants a fairly wide, solid loom. The Leclerc Artisat is a quiet floor model loom equipped with an easy tie-up system. Its weight has been reduced to a minimum, but it is sufficiently sturdy to do heavy work.
This Leclerc loom can be folded in the front and back to a depth of 14" (4 shaft loom) even if your weaving is on the loom. This allows you to move this loom easily. The shed will always be good regardless of the kind of cloth you are making (Double Weave, Bronson, Leno, etc.). The Leclerc Artisat is built with 6 treadles on the four harness version and with 10 treadles on the eight harness loom and permits any combination of tie-up.
Tying up the treadles on this loom is fast and easy: The treadling system of all Leclerc Artisat looms offers speed tie-up with pre-adjusted loop cables that eliminate adjustment time when setting up the loom to weave.
The Leclerc Artisat floor loom come complete with a steel reed of your choice (please choose below) 6, 8, 10, or 12 dent. 1000 wire heddles, 1 Leclerc boat shuttle, 12 plastic bobbins, one reed and heddle hook, two lease sticks, 2 warp rods, 2 beam sticks, 2 cords, assembly instructions and assembly DVD and the book "Warp and Weave".
Additional reeds can be purchase separately on our Leclerc Weaving Accessories page.
All weavers know that getting a clean shed with an 8 harness loom is not as easy as with a 4 harness loom. The additional weight of the extra harnesses also cause more effort while treadling. To overcome this problem the Leclerc Artisat 8 harness loom is also available with back hinged treadles. This is makes lifting the harnesses easier than the regular 8 Harness Artisat version, but will require you to get used to this slightly different treadling action.
This new design feature has the treadles anchored at the rear of the loom, (see image to the left) with a new, unique, rocker mechanism that insures even tension on all treadle cords, with the treadles in both the rest or depressed position. This new design provides the weaver with the easy treadling on an 8 shaft loom, comparable to that of a 4 shaft. The choice is yours!
The treadling system of all Leclerc Artisat looms offers speed tie-up with pre-adjusted loop cables that eliminate adjustment time when setting up the loom to weave.
